As drones get more popular, they become more affordable and come with more features.
One of the features that is becoming more and more popular is altitude hold.
Altitude hold used to be a feature only on the high-end drones such as the DJI Phantom, but that is no longer the case.
Since there have been a surge of cheap altitude hold drones on the market, I’ve prepared a list of 5 of the best altitude hold quadcopters you can buy, each for under $100. My favorite on the list is the Syma X5UW, but with all of these options, there’s a choice for anybody. Here it goes!
5 Altitude Hold Drones Under $100
1) JXD 510G
Starting off the list strong with the JXD 510G.
It has an altitude hold feature that works well for flying in FPV. Speaking of which, the 510G comes with a full-fledged FPV setup. Camera, FPV monitor and all. All for under $100!
2) JJRC H11WH
The JJRC H11WH is a mid-budget WiFi FPV quadcopter.
It uses your smartphone as an FPV display and the camera’s angle is adjustable straight from the transmitter.
An adjustable camera, altitude hold and FPV all for around $50? Not bad. Not bad at all.
3) Cheerson CX-10D
By far the smallest and cheapest altitude hold quadcopter on this list is the Cheerson CX-10D.
What this quadcopter lacks in size and features, it makes up for in affordability.
It comes with a tiny, micro-sized transmitter only slightly larger than the drone itself. Small, simple, portable. Great for flying around the house or office. To top it all off, it has altitude hold that works just as well as some of the big boys!

4) Syma X5HW
The X5HW now includes everything that was awesome about the Syma X5C-1’s stability and durability and adds altitude hold, as well as WiFi FPV capabilities.
Using your smartphone as an FPV display means you don’t need an external monitor, keeping the overall cost of the package down.
If you’re looking for something a little more feature-rich, take a look at our next pick.
5) Syma X5UW
The last of our altitude hold drones under $100, and my personal favorite is the Syma X5UW.
Featuring a sleek, candy-red design, this quadcopter also has WiFi FPV like some of our previous models. The main difference here, aside from it’s beautiful aesthetic, is the ability to record camera footage straight onto an SD card, whereas other altitude hold FPV drones record to your smartphone.
That can help greatly if your smartphone is running low on space, as we know tends to happen often with the crazy amount of apps out there these days. Ok, tangent over.
5 Altitude Hold Drones Under $100: Conclusion
Overall, you don’t need to spend a ton of money to get an awesome quadcopter with altitude hold. We hope this list was helpful.
